If the Spark Plugs are unknown history - get them Changed, there only £3 to £4 each. So £16 can help keep the engine running sweet as a nut. Jan 12, 2011. #2. Both times my engine warning light came on with the check engine message I drove the car straight away and it didn't cause any damage. One was a serious problem which resulted in my car needing a new headgasket but my engine wasn't running properly as the warnings came up. Second time some sensor on the start stop was sending FullSuf said: Hi to all, I own a 2011 1.4 Petrol Punto Evo for 2 years now. I'm having this problem simce day 1. And there it is: When I start the car, the ASR/ESP light is turned on on dash and i get the ASR, ESP and Hill Holder failure massages. Now - if i turn the engine off, and turn it back on it will disappear and everything works perfectly! Messages. 745. Points. 144. May 7, 2014. #2. Most likely a clutch problem. The clutch release bearing may have gone through the clutch springs which can explain why you clutch pedal is light. But check to see if the cable is doing its work, i.e. when you press the clutch the clutch release mechanism on the top of the gearbox is activated. this is the most common fault with the fiat punto, which can disable the windows, door locks and mirror controls. Had a bit of a shock today when I left my car in for it's service with a well respected indi garage (who deal in Fiat's & Alfa's) to be told that the front pads and discs needed replacing. I knew the pads were due but the discs were a bit of a shocker as the car has only done 24k miles (bought it at 14k miles), but according Its a Punto Evo 2011 1.3 multijet 95hp (199b1000 engine) 2doors, i really like the looks of it, but unfortunately the tehnical problems could make me get rid of it. So, since i bought it : - I noticed a slight chain rattle at start-up, so i replaced the timing chain at 125.000km. - Oil and filters also replaced at 125k. Fiat Punto 5 Speed Manual Gearbox Problems One of the most common failing gearboxes we recondition is found fitted to the Fiat Punto. This common failing 5-Speed Manual Gearbox has many weak points, we see these boxes fail and come in with various problems including: Front Bearing Failure (Lay-Gear / Input shaft), Worn Out Gears and Gear Hubs, Pinion Bearing Failure, Crown Wheel Failure and so on. Problem: There are known issues with the crankshaft on the Picanto. There have been reports of problems with the crankshaft pulley bolt failing, the crankshaft position sensor failing and the crankshaft snapping just behind the crank timing gear. Any one of these problems can lead to starting issues, lack of power and/or poor engine idling. The problem was also in the connector to the loom. You can also replace that connector and cut / crimp the loom. I needed the car for work so had no time to wait for an over priced connector and so joined the fan high speed wire on the loom to the heater feed wire, but leaving them all connected at the resistor pack allows 2 pins to carry the load. Hi! I just got my car a month ago, fiat punto evo 2011 dualogic and been having lots of problem with it. It drives beautifly on highways but in the city it keeps failing. Even though it has been looked out in a garage and no problems appeared I have so many issues with it its frustrating. I -Never had any big reversing problems, maybe one in a 50 that it didnt go into reverse when i tried.-It goes into all other 5 gears no problem, with the car running or not,-Wont go into reverse even if car not on. It not like it goes into reverse but doesnt move, the shifter doesnt even want to sit into the spot, like it is blocked or something. qzDM9.
